TERMS OF SERVICE
Here at Storm Campervans we always strive to deliver a high level of quality in our hire vehicles. By agreeing to our Terms of Service we are able to continue to keep these high levels of attention to detail and cleanliness we aim to provide for our customers. A full copy of our Terms of Service will be sent to you with your booking form.
Definitions
• You / Your – The person or persons that completed the booking form and who entered into the Hire Agreement.
• We / Our – Storm Campervans.
• Vehicle – The Vauxhall Vivaro Campervan hired to you under the Hire Agreement (or any relevant replacement we feel might be necessary during your Hire Period.
• Hire Period – The period in which you booked to hire a vehicle with Storm Campervans.
• Equipment – All the inventory that is included with the vehicle i.e. camping chairs, crockery, glasses, ben linen…
Hire
Storm Campervans hire the vehicle to you subject to the booking form and these Terms of Service, as well as the Policy of Insurance covering the vehicle and the equipment included in the Hire Period. By signing these Terms of Service, you confirm that you comply with these terms and will not sublet the vehicle or claim to own the vehicle.
Only people listed on the Booking Form can use/occupy the vehicle during the Hire Period.
Storm Campervans hire you the vehicle in a good and sound state complete with insurance and all working facilities. We will go through the condition of the vehicle with you at pick up (beginning of Hire Period) and will go through it with you again at drop off.
The vehicle is hired to you on these Terms of Service.
Booking
The Storm Campervan Booking Form must be completed to us (email is preferred but post is accepted) along with a non-refundable Booking Deposit (bank transferred but cheques are accepted if the booking is over a month away).
Please be aware that we cannot accept cheques for bookings that are made with less than a months’ notice.
On receipt of the Booking Form a written confirmation (by email) will be sent to you. The booking contract will come into effect once this has been sent to you.
The balance of the Hire Period you chose must be paid 30 days before the start of your Hire Period.
If the balance has not been paid in this time, we reserve the right to rent the vehicle to another party and we will retain the Booking Deposit.
We strive to accommodate any changes and amendments to your booking dates (Hire Period) when possible.
We reserve the right to cancel any vehicle hire in Storm Campervans discretion.
Security Deposit
There is a £500 security deposit to be secured with Storm Campervans before the start of the Hire Period. The security deposit must be paid by bank transfer or cash before the vehicle will be released to you for the Hire Period.
The security deposit will be refunded to you on safe return of the vehicle and its contents. If the vehicle is returned and is not in the condition in which it was hired to you (i.e. damaged, missing/damaged items, insurance claims) we reserve the right to retain the security deposit while we work out the cost of the work required, In this instance an itemised bill will be sent to you detailing the works required.
If the vehicle is not returned to Storm Campervans in the level of cleanliness we would expect an additional cleaning cost will be added.
The hirer must accept that we at Storm Campervans decision as to whether the condition that the vehicle was returned in was the same as when it was hired to you is absolute.
Pick Up & Drop Off
Pick up and Drop offs are usually from our industrial unit in Grange over Sands, Cumbria. Collection from Oxenholme Train Station as well as local pick up. In these circumstances please speak to us when booking.
Identification Required when Collecting the Vehicle
• A valid UK Manual Driving Licence or International Driving Licence or International Driving Permit
• Credit or Debit Card
• One of the following: Passport / Bank Statement or Utility Bill within last 3 months / Return Flight Confirmation
The above applies to all drivers.
Please leave at least an hour at Pick Up for us to show you the vehicle and its features, loading of luggage and finalising any relevant paperwork.
The vehicle must be returned by the designated hour we give you. When the vehicle is returned please leave another hour for a full inspection of the vehicle and equipment.
Your vehicle can be left at our industrial unit during the Hire Period however Storm Campervans cannot be held liable for any loss or damage in any circumstance.
Late Returns
Late returns will be charged for by the hour unless circumstances beyond reasonable control have occurred, these are defined without question by Storm Campervans. Late returns not only add extra work to Storm Campervans but directly impact the enjoyment of the party hiring the vehicle next.
We therefore ask that you add this into your timing on your return to us.
Driver’s License
We require that the named drivers have a full UK manual drivers’ licence for a minimum of 2 years or 3 years in the European Union.
When booking we take your declaration of good health to mean that you have no mental or physical disabilities that would interfere with your ability to drive the vehicle.
Drivers licence numbers and other identification information for all those who intend to drive, when you make your booking are required. We must have driver’s licences - photo card and paper counterpart and passports for all named drivers, as well as two other forms of identification i.e. a recent utility bill. These must be seen before you will be able to drive the Vehicle away. You agree that only pre-authorised and pre-identified people can drive the Vehicle.
Insurance & Excess
Cover only includes the UK.
Please be aware that a dashboard camera and a tracker are fitted to the vehicle as per our insurance.
The insurance is comprehensive for the named drivers. The usual cost of an additional driver (maximum one other driver) is £5 per day for a driver with a clean licence. The usual age range of the drivers we except for hiring a vehicle is 25-70 however we can always try to accommodate any exceptions.
You must provide us with complete and accurate information as any false information will invalid your insurance and you will be liable for all insurance costs.
The insurance protects you and us against legal claims from any other person, personal injury or death as well as damage to any person’s property caused by use of the Vehicle on the road, unless you are in breach of these Terms of Service.
The insurance only includes the vehicle and the equipment in the vehicle.
In some instances, additional charges may occur due to drivers with roadside convictions, foreign drivers’ licences.
We advise that you take out your own travel and personal insurance for the Hire Period.
In the event of an insurance claim being made you are responsible for a £500 excess, this can be more in cases where the driver is younger than 25, road convictions etc. You will be informed if it over £500 before the Hire Period starts.
If the vehicle is driven under the influence of alcohol or drugs you will be liable for all damages. This is also the case for driving negligently, dangerously or off-road.
Vehicle & Equipment Breakdown
If you have any difficulties, please inform us immediately. In the event of the vehicle breaking down a repair or recovery service will be provided to you. The breakdown information will be included in the information pack in the vehicle. If you call another service other than the one the vehicle is registered with you will incur these costs.
If available a replacement vehicle will be provided to you.
Our liability only extends to refunding your hire charge for the rest of the Hire Period the vehicle or replacing the vehicle with another if available.
In the event of Equipment breakdown this will not make the vehicle unusable. Any items that breakdown during the Hire Period will be compensated to you at a daily rate. However please inform us immediately as we may be able to replace the item in question.
In the extent of external damages i.e. vehicle wing mirror please inform us immediately so we can order the relevant parts and start making arrangements to fix these.
Security
During the Hire Period the vehicle is your responsibility. Therefore, you must take precautions against theft and damage. When leaving the vehicle lock the doors, close windows and vents and do not leave valuables visible.
In the event of lost or damaged keys you are liable for the cost of repairs or replacement. This is also the case if it leads to the theft of the vehicle.
General
Smoking is strictly prohibited in the vehicle and under the awning.
You must strictly adhere to the health and safety information provided in the vehicle during your Hire Period.
Mileage is unlimited during the Hire Period.
A full tank of diesel is provided at the start of the Hire Period. It is your responsibility to return it with a full tank. Any vehicle returning without a full tank will be charged for the missing fuel with commission.
Any items that are left in the vehicle by you will happily be returned to you with the addition of cost of postage.
Pets are welcome in the vehicle but any excess cleaning due to the vehicle returning in a state that we deem to be unacceptable will be charged with an extra cleaning cost.
Storm Campervans cannot be held responsible for any Speeding or Parking fines that occur during the Hire Period in any circumstances.
Your Liability
You are liable for any losses or damage caused by you and/or your party, and we cannot accept liability for any losses or damage, or liability caused by you to yourselves or third parties, or your or their property. You are fully responsible for damage caused by failure to assess the road conditions.
The vehicle and its contents are your responsibly, and you must comply with our instructions and health and safety guidelines. Where no instructions or guidelines are given, common sense is required.
Personal Data
When you book the Vehicle, we must collect personal information ie name, e-mail address, home address, telephone number, credit/debit card number, security code and card expiry date.
We may use the information that we collect to notify you about information Storm Campervans think you might find interesting.
We must reveal your identity information to our insurance company.
Disclaimer
We are not liable to you, or any authorised driver or passenger, for loss of or damage to property left in the Vehicle either during or after the Hire Period, unless such loss or damage results from our negligence or our breach of this Agreement.
If a breach of this Agreement is committed, we have the right to terminate your booking. If we find you to be in breach of the agreement when you are already hiring the Vehicle, we may need you to vacate the vehicle immediately.WE RESERVE THE RIGHT WITHOUT QUESTION TO:
• VARY RATES AND CONDITIONS AT ANY TIME.
• REFUSE HIRE TO ANY PERSON FOR ANY REASON AND NOT HAND OVER THE VEHICLE IF IT FEELS THE HIRER IS NOT SUITABLE.
• REPOSSESS THE VEHICLE AT ANY TIME, DUE TO MISUSE, DAMAGE OR ACCIDENT.
